Bonita Valley Baptist Church
BVBC is an autonomous Baptist Church.

We are committed to exalting Christ,
...to studying, preaching, and obeying the Word of God.
...to welcoming and helping "one another" like family
...and to reaching the world with the Gospel.
Vision
Bonita Valley Baptist
We envision teaching believers, through the Bible, how to love God and love their neighbors (Col 1:28, Matt 22:37-40).
We see a church of fully devoted followers of Jesus. Through dynamic preaching and practical teaching of the Scripture, along with discipling relationships, we strive to see life transformation occurs and people becoming more like Christ.
We see a joyful people eager to attend services. When people arrive they are warmly received, feel deep connections with others, and a sense of belonging. Newcomers are embraced with love and grace and brought into the life of BVBC.
We see vibrant ministries for all ages. Children, Youth, Young Adult, Men and Women, Seniors--each having multiple opportunities for spiritual growth, refreshment, and service. We see a church where every believer is equipped for ministry and deployed in service for the honor of God and love for people.
We see a church where prayer is vital and interwoven in all settings. We seek opportunities to pray for one another, for the will of God and for the advancement of His Kingdom.
We envision reaching Bonita and its nearby communities with the Good News that Jesus saves and transforms people (Luke 15).
We see a church passionate to bring people to know Jesus Christ as Savior. We are focused on training our adults and our young to live biblically, love authentically, and to share the message of Christ with integrity. We encourage our faith family of all ages to develop relationships with those who may not know Jesus. Outreach is not just a program, but an overflow of our lives in Christ. We see people eager to serve in Bonita and beyond.
We rejoice BVBC is made up of people from different racial, ethnic, national, and economic backgrounds. We see a beautiful tapestry of God's people reflecting the reality of heaven, when "every tribe, tongue, and nation" will stand shoulder to shoulder in praise of Christ who brought them together by His blood and in His grace.
We envision sending believers into the world to share with others the story of how Jesus saved them
(Romans 10:13-15, Acts 1:8)
We see our church supporting many missionary endeavors, both prayerfully and financially. We celebrate with our missionaries as they provide updates sharing how God is working through their ministries.
We see our people called to participate in a variety of missionary efforts, locally and around the world. It is exciting for us as a church to extend Christ's work to "the ends of the earth" (Matt 28:20)

Bonita Valley Baptist ~
"We Believe..."
BONITA VALLEY BAPTIST CHURCH ~ DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
The Word of God
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The Trinity
We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons.
We believe these are equal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in Holiness, wisdom, power and love.
We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, He hears and answers prayer, and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.
We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings.
We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.
Regeneration
We believe all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation.
We believe those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.
We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship.
We believe God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.
Christian Conduct
We believe a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men and his conduct should be blameless before the world.
We believe a Christian should be a faithful steward of his possessions and should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.
The Ordinances
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
We believe Christian Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God.
We believe the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of his death.
We believe these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Religious Liberty
We believe every human being may have a direct relationship with God and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith.
We believe each church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastic or political authority, and the church and state be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.
Church Cooperation
We believe local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another in a denominational organization. Such an organization, whether a regional or district conference, exists and functions by the will of the churches. Cooperation in a conference is voluntary and may be terminated at any time. Churches may likewise cooperate with interdenominational fellowships on a voluntary independent basis.
The Last Things
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His Kingdom.
We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal
joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the unregenerated.
Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Genesis 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:18-25)
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4)
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Bonita Valley Baptist Church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Bonita Valley Baptist Church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Bonita Valley Baptist Church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22)
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Bonita Valley Baptist Church.
